I guess you've never driven one (on the limit) ? They really understeer without the DCCD, and not just a little. Yes you can adjust your driving style, but that doesn't make the car understeer less. You're just trying to hide it's shortcomings. On tarmac the old GTT handle really bad, they just belong off-road. Those old GTT's (scooby's) understeer even more then my '89 FWD Corolla. Unless you have one with a DCCD, they are CRAP. period.

Friend of mine has the Nissan Sunny GTi with the same engine, the SR20DE. Pretty good if you ask me, nice torque..but not too much high end power. Very reliable..no problems so far..but hey it's Japanese
Suspension wise..they are pretty good but expect it to have worn bushes..especially on the anti roll bar linkages.

Not so sure if it's economical though..but that comes down to how you drive it I guess..

I'm not sure if it's sold in the UK but another car in this class is the Toyota Carina GTi..also 2ltr engine..extremely reliable and comfy.. (for it's price..duh)

Not sure yet..I don't even know if he/they were aiming for a new record.

Breidscheid/ Ex-Mühle is 50km/u (or was it 60km/u ?) So that's a no-go area..

On the various forums the most people agree that he'll do his lap most probably between 10:00 and 12:00 (between VLN practice and race start)
